ASSIGNMENT M 5 KB 1

The teacher in the video performs various stages of the activity in a structured and systematic manner. The stages in the learning activities refer to one of the learning models with a scientific approach and student-centered learning.
1.      Identify the various stages (syntax) implemented by the teacher in the learning activities in the            video!
2.      Based on the learning syntax identified, determine the name of the learning model that was                  demonstrated or applied by the teacher in the video.
3.      Arrange a lesson plan with a particular theme or subject matter (according to your teaching field)         that applies the learning model to the video that you observe.

Task No. 1


The teacher in the video is teaching the students of SMK Negeri 3 Bandung Class XI majoring accounting. The teacher performs various stages or syntaxes in a structured and systematic manner. Here are the stages that she carried out in the learning activity.
a.       Introduction
-          The teacher greets the students
-          The teacher asks one of the students to lead the prayer before beginning the lesson
-          The teacher checks the student’ attendance
-          The teacher motivates the students and makes sure that they are ready to study

Stage 1:
Problem identification






Teacher informs the basic competences and the purpose of learning or the learning objectives and asks about the material in the previous lesson which is still related to the new topic that are going to be taught.
In the video, teacher presents power point slide to orient the students on actual and authentic problem and motivates students to engage in problem-solving activities
Students pay attention to the goals that must be mastered, review the previous lesson in brief, and try to understand the problems presented by the teacher.

Stage 2:
Problem Solving -Planning

Teacher organizes the students to learn. The teacher divides the students into groups and helps them define and organize learning tasks related to the problem.

 Students confirm by giving opinion about the problem in the video and limit the problems to be studied. Students discuss the problem statement and list its significant parts

Stage 3:
Problem Solving – Execution

The teacher assists independent and group investigations. The teacher asks students in groups to discuss the existing problems by looking for other sources of information. The teacher encourages students to gather information and search solutions from books and internet.
Students do inquiry, investigating, and asking to get answers to the problems. Students collect relevant information to answer questions from other source. In the video, students seek information from other sources such as books and the internet through Smartphone.

Stage 4:
Problem Solving – Presentation

The teacher assists the students in planning and preparing their reports or solutions to share with others. The teacher asks students in groups to demonstrate the results of their group reports / discussions in front of the class.
Students compile the report in groups and present it in front of the class.

Stage 5:
Problem Solving – Reflection

Teacher analyzes and evaluates the problem solving process. Teacher helps students reflect on their thinking process and investigations they used. In the video, the teacher asks the student's opinion about the results of his friend's report in front of the class.
 Students give opinions about the results of the discussion that their friends have presented in front of the class

c.       Closing
-          Teacher and students make the conclusion of the lesson
-          Teacher tells the next topic in the next meeting
-          Teacher asks one of the students to lead the prayer to end the lesson.

Task No. 2

Based on the learning syntax identified, the learning model that was demonstrated or applied by the teacher in the video is Problem Based Learning.
