Instructions

Write a biography about a good friend you have. Think about where and when you met, what you like to do together, why you are friends, and any other things you want to include. Try to write at least 200 words.

Andrew M. Triono

Andrew M. Triono is my best friend. I call him Andrew for short. He was born at Pangaloan, a small village in Humbang Hasundutan regency in July 1989. Though he was raised in small village where many people didn’t pay much attention for education, his parents were concerned about his education. After he finished his elementary and junior high school from the schools nearby his village, his parents sent him to study at SMA Bintang Timur Balige in 2004. He graduated from senior high school in 2007. Then he followed entrance test to college. He was accepted to study at State University of Medan in July 2007.

I met him in 2010 when we attended the teachers’ training program of our campus in the seventh semester. It was called Program Pengalaman Lapangan (PPL). We were placed in one of the school in Berastagi. We were both from education department.  He majored in electrical engineering and I majored in English. At first, I thought he was nasty because he didn’t speak to anyone. But, the next days, we started to talk each other. We shared our experiences in facing some naughty boy students that we had in our class. After talking, I realized that he was really nice and we became best friend. He also loved helping me and our other friends when we did teachers’ training tasks especially dealing with computer software. Even though computer was not his major, he was good at installing new application that we need and fixing computer’s or laptop’s problem that we face.

He graduated from college and got his S1 degree in 2012. Then, he went back to his hometown for helping his parents. In 2014, he followed Computer Assisted Test for civil servant acceptance. He passed the test and started working as a teacher in SMK Negeri 1 Tapian Nauli in May 2015. He is a life-long learner. He never stops learning new things especially related to computer and technology. Last time, his school got troubles in preparing the students to have national examination based on computer test. The school members were worried how they conducted computer based test at school, because they never did it before. He tried to fix things and the final examination was done well. His principal and the teachers at the school were proud of him.
