Instructions
Try to get
information about a fable in your home town and summarize it using the generic structure
(setting, characters, events, resolution, and conclusion).
The
Rabbit and the Farmer’s Dog
In a large corn
plantation, there was a farmer's dog that looked after the field from the
rabbits. Corn leaves were often eaten by rabbits so that the corn plants could
not grow properly and if the plants did not grow well, the corn harvest would
also be greatly reduced, so the farmer placed a trained dog on the plantation.
Every day the dog wandered around and examined corn-disturbing animals on
farmers' plantations.
One morning the dog
woke up from his sleep and then he walked around the corn plantation. When he
walked, the dog kissed the smell of rabbits from a distance. He followed the
direction of the smell until finally he saw a rabbit ate young shoots of corn.
The dog walked slowly toward the rabbit. When he was very close to the rabbit,
he immediately chased him very quickly. But the rabbit heard the dog's step
because rabbits have long ears and are very sensitive to sound. The rabbit
avoided the dog quickly he jumped very fast and very far.
The dog kept chasing
him even though the rabbit was getting away from the dog's distance but the dog
didn’t give up. The dog had the ability to run without stopping so he tried to
chase the rabbit without fatigue. Even so, the rabbit which a quick jumper,
avoided the dog and made him lose the track. The dog started sniffing the
rabbit's smell again and soon he found the rabbit. He chased the rabbit faster
than before but he could not get it again. The rabbit moved to another field.
The dog did not
continue his chase. He continued to walk around his master’s field to secure
the corn plantation. It turned out that the event was watched by a crow that
was perched on a tree whose leaves were falling when the dog passed the tree. The crow asked him “It turned out that the
rabbit was tighter than you”. Then the
dog said calmly “Didn't you see the difference what's so striking between me
and that rabbit?” The crow replied “I didn't see that difference, what
difference do you mean by that?” Then, the dog replied “I ran to catch food
while he ran to defend his life, a desire will determine someone’s effort”
Moral Message: If we have a strong
desire and passion to realize what we want, then sooner or later, it will help
