1. Establishing a personal recount plan involving experience as teacher about how you prepared your students for or final examination in order that they achieved a high score.

My Experiences in Preparing Students to Face Examination

Last academic year, some of my colleagues and I were appointed to prepare our ninth grade students to face national examination and entrance test to higher school that has good management system. We decided to hold afternoon course for our students to help them prepare themselves for their examination from Monday to Thursday within three months. 

First, we arranged the program from each lesson based on the graduation standard that set by the government. I arranged the afternoon course program with other teachers from English department. We arranged the teaching materials that were needed to be reviewed with our students. 

Second, we arranged some questions for quiz. The quiz was done after the teaching material given to the students. The quiz should be at least 10 questions and be submitted to administration office to be copied for students. 

Third, we conducted Try Out test for our student once in a month. We collaborated with independent course out of the school. We had collaboration with Ganesha Operation to give Try Out for our students to know the progress. 

After finishing the program of afternoon course, our students were busy with their examination. All of the students passed the National Examination. Some of the students also succeeded in their entrance test to higher school. They were accepted to study in schools that have good management system, for example, SMA Unggul DEL, SMA Budi Mulia Siantar, and other public senior high school in Siantar. 

2. Establishing a biographical recount about the principal of the school 

The Principal of SMP Negeri 1 Sidamanik 

Mr. Eden Purba, a fifty eight years old man, started to be principal of the SMP Negeri 1 Sidamanik two years ago. His educational background was from social sciences majoring civics. He graduated from IKIP Medan in 1984 and got his master degree from University of Setia Budi in 2011. He grew in Sarimatondang. As one who was born in this village, he wanted to apply his knowledge in the local public school. In November 2016, he leaded SMP Negeri 1 Sidamanik which located on Jalan Sarimatondang. 

Before he served at this school, he was the principal of some senior high schools. He got lots of experiences as principal. He was the principal of SMA N 1 Pardinggaran from 1995 – 2006. Then he became the principal of the SMA N 1 Purba from 2007 – 2009. After that he became the principal of SMA N 1 Sidamanik in 2010. Then, the local education officer moved him to SMA N 1 Panombeian and served as principal of the school too from 2011 – 2012. After that, he became the principal back in SMA N 1 Sidamanik till October 2016. And finally, he has been principal in SMP Negeri 1 Sidamnik for about two years. 

During his leadership, the school became much better especially in facilities. The school is used to have black board and chalk in the class. He changed them with white board and markers in every class. He also bought Infocus Projector. Though they are very limited, they are very important to facilitate the learning process when teachers want to have presentation. 

He was also successful in the program of renovation some buildings of the school. The fence of the school was broken and the toilets were not inappropriate to use anymore last time. So, he asked people to repair and fix them. There were also classrooms with no electricity. Then he paid attention to them and had the electricity installation in those classrooms. 

Mr. Eden Purba, as the principal of SMP Negeri 1 Sidamanik, managed the school and tried to facilitate the good learning environment for school members in his early leadership in this school.
